David Raybuck is a singer/songwriter currently living in Arlington, Texas. Dave began performing live shows in the Austin area in 2000 while attending Texas State University in San Marcos. His band was a 4-piece lead/rhythm/bass/drum combo named Deeper. He produced and released his first and only album, Pawn, in 2001 laced with the beautiful drumming of Andrew Carlson. Deeper would play consistently at quality venues such as Stubb's in Austin and Lucy's Retired Surfers' Bar in San Marcos. Dave almost dropped out of school to give music the attention it deserves but was convinced by his parents to stick it out, and Deeper entered hibernation. After graduating with a bachelors in Geographic Information Science, Dave married his girlfriend of 4 years, Lindsay, and moved with her to North Texas.David is a solo-artist armed with a modest home studio, allowing him to record pieces with full instrumentation. He blends vocals, guitars, bass, keys, and programmed drums into a digital Mac recording setup to produce a unique, layered sound. Dave's style is all over the place, but an attempt to categorize it could bring a description of melodic, acoustic-driven, alternative trip-rock (whatever that means). The music is a combination of the oddities in his head and a variety of musical influences: Elliott Smith, Smashing Pumpkins, Failure, the Beatles, Ween, Supergrass, Air, and Radiohead to name a few. David is looking for serious, talented musicians for live performance. |
